Also known as New Ridgewood Grove Arena, the building, with a capacity of 4,000 to 5,000, was located 341-343 St. Nicholas Avenue, Queens, on the northeast corner of St. Nicholas Avenue and Palmetto Street on the Brooklyn-Queens border (That's why it is commonly said to have been in Brooklyn).

The wrestling cards took place almost on a weekly basis in the early 1930s and at least in 1927, 1945 and 1950. Rudy Miller was the promoter for boxing and wrestling at the venue, and the Toots Mondt would later provide the talents to the arena through his Manhattan Wrestling Enterprises.

WWF also promoted several shows at the building in early 1980s.
