The venue was operated by Willie Gilzenberg, a Newark wrestling promoter, who was a figureheard president of the WWWF until his death in 1979. He was responsible for an unofficial NWA World Heavyweight Title switch between Buddy Rogers and Bobo Brazil. The building was demolished in the 1950s.
